          Estate Of Stevie Wonder’s Lawyer And Royalties

          The estate of legendary singer Stevie Wonder’s lawyer, Johanan Vigoda, reportedly settled a lawsuit in September of 2017 involving royalties.

          During the four decade representation of Wonder, Vigoda reportedly negotiated a fee of 6% of all revenues and royalties Wonder earned “forever”.  The agreement is reported to have originated from the unique situation Wonder found himself in as a blind musician that had previously been taken advantage of by record labels and needing a representative that he could trust completely and was able to negotiate some of the “most lucrative contract terms in the music industry.“  Vigoda allegedly had to read aloud each contract to Wonder including their own compensation agreement.

          This agreement allegedly went beyond Vigoda’s own lifetime and extended to his heirs. Vigoda’s widow Susan Strack brought a litigation action again
