          Ivana Zanicchi was born on January 30, 1940, in Ligonchio, Tuscany, Italy.

          She embarked on her music career in the early 1960s, releasing two albums that failed to gain commercial success.

          Breakthrough and Success at Sanremo

          In 1967, Zanicchi's fortunes changed when she won the Sanremo Music Festival with her duet "Non pensare a me" with Claudio Villa.

          This victory launched her into the limelight, and she went on to win the festival two more times, in 1969 with "Zingara" (with Bobby Solo) and in 1974 with "Ciao cara come stai" (solo).
